replaying Dragon Age: Origins
Tuesday, September 11th, 2012 10:47 pmThis is a good way to spend my short afternoons after work.
Regrettably, DA:O is still glitchy as hell and randomly crashes sometimes, usually after I've been playing for an hour or two. This is fine if I remember to save like I'm playing FFIV, but shitty if I forget to save for a while.
I have so little willpower, but I'm fighting hard to play a character who only hits on ONE companion character instead of all of them. The thing is, I love charming the companion characters and figuring out their personalities. (You can tell I like Morrigan and Sten best because they like me the most).
I made files for every background, though I doubt I'll finish the game as all of them. I sort of kind of have a plan, even:
Illyrio, human mage --> Zevran
Mirzam, human noble --> Alistair
Orly, city-elf --> Leliana (because I mean she's practically got "made for Leliana" tattooed on her face)
Jeremy, dalish-elf --> Morrigan (because he's the spiritual successor to Rowdy*)
Maive, noble-dwarf --> everyone?
Varric, thief-dwarf --> no one?
*-Which probably still means Morrigan, then Leliana, then Morrigan, then Zevran, then Morrigan because damn it Morrigan why can't we stay together *manchild sobbing*
EDIT: I really have to go to bed, BUT, this does remind me that my biggest number one complaint about Bioware games in general and both Dragon Age games in specific is, why the balls do I have to be monogamous? Why aren't there OPTIONS for more? The more intricate the relationships get, the more interesting it is to play, and besides which, obviously Isabela/Hawke/Fenris is best (I prefer M!Hawke for the OT3, but F!Hawke for just Isabela) so why can't I have it in-game?
I shall rail pointlessly about how I couldn't be gay in TOR some more, too. Growr.
