I am delighted to know that other people are nitpicking the Hunger Games movie

This video is awesome and considerably less vitriolic than I am; found thanks to Kate Beaton's Tumblr.

Today I spent most of the day hanging out with my brother. We played some basic D&D because he'd never played with us before and he wanted to give it a try. Hours of laughter and goofiness later, I regrettably had to take him back home. I love that kid. He is the best.

Notable details:

Dustin played a rotund merchant man named Cornelius Eggman; my brother played a magic user named Baolin Pompadour; I played a paladin named Zorba Goodwoman.

We defiled some evil shrines to necromantic and fish-people gods. This led to Cornelius becoming a megalomaniacal zombie, and Zorba turning with a flash of heavy metal music and black lightning into ZACK BADMAN, the anti-paladin for a while.

We laughed so hard we couldn't breathe almost constantly. It was pretty damn awesome.

After obtaining groceries, we're set for work tomorrow. And now it's time for me to go to bed.

Haha, I saw that video too. I'm withholding judgement of the film because I haven't see it yet or read the book, but I know there was a weird backlash to it because some of the characters were depicted as *gasp* not white, despite the fact that they were clearly described as darker-skinned in the book. But yeah, racebending is (sadly) still a very large problem in Hollywood and in entertainment in general.
