Recommendations, self-denial, and DDO

Note to self: you have been recommended this book.

Man, so I've been putting together my answers for the 30-women-you-think-are-rad meme for some weeks now. I finally HAVE answers for all the questions, but the process of fleshing them out and trying to make it interesting is no easy thing. I want it to be a fun, funny kind of post with pictures and vid clips and cool ladies that people will grow to love, but I'm worried it'll be too long to really hit that sweet spot. So, even more time must be devoted to it. I rarely delay a post when it's essentially finished and am finding it a little difficult-- there's the urge to just throw it up there without any explanation for why my answers are what they are, no links, nothing. But that hardly seems like any fun!

We've also been denying ourselves Game of Thrones S2 so far, though not by any special intent. We've been busy (and worried, between the job thing and then the neighbors), and also switching schedules, so staying up forever and a day isn't quite an option anymore. Still, hopefully we'll get to that soon. Maybe. That's a show I need to get on DVD as soon as I have free cash again. This month, not so much. Maybe May or June.

Seriously tempted to go to Phoenix Comic-con. Last time, you may recall, that I tried to do so I discovered my car was destroyed AFTER the con had started and I'd paid for it, so I never made it there and I lost about 1200$ to repairs over the course of the weekend, which was pretty damn awful. So it'd be nice to successfully go, especially if Danny comes with. Which he might. The guest list includes a LOT of ST:NG actors, and some other folks I remember we were like "whaaat that's kind of awesome, actually" over. So, there's a thought. Admission is pretty cheap, so maybe, maybe.

DDO! I'm playing DDO with Danny. I tried to play with Dustin, but I have a pretty hard time with new MMOs when I'm playing with someone who's not right there in the room with me. It's not that I'm bad at picking up controls, but I have a MILLION questions, and can only really ask them successfully if the person is on the phone or in the room with me. It's ideal, really: we carry a hireling fighter around with us, and get to play rogue and wizard, which are two of the most fun classes ever. I'm liking Wizard so far, it's really interesting.

I have been thinking about Leonard Roland lately. Maybe it is time for some more attempts at getting him out in the world again.
